Offense just wasn't a factor!
Oxford, MS:
Washington State - 294, Ole Miss - 254. These are the yards of total offense that were put up during saturday nights ESPN televised game between Washington State and Ole Miss. "This pace of this game totally took me by surprise." Coach Manning said afterwards. A pace that is traditional to SEC of the past, but not for this ERA of college football. That pace was one set forth by a aggressive Rebel defense. Brooks Robinson, who you my or may not remeber was the fastest ATH in the country last year, helped led the defense with 6 tackles(3 TFL) and a sack. Senior Jon Parker won Defensive MVP of the game though, Jon had 4 tackles and 2 INT's. Skinner and Westerman also added an interception each. The special teams battle was also won by Ole Miss, IMO. Immediately following a long TD drive by WSU, Jon Parker caught the kickoff at the 6 yard line and struck through the middle of the WSU front line on way to a 96 yard TD. Offensively, the Rebels were led by RS Senior LaMarr Gilliam. Gilliam was 8-10 for 167 yards and 1 TD passing. He also added 6 carries for 27 yards rushing. Rivers, Gilliam, Garrett, and Gaines all combined to rush the ball 21 times for 87 yards. Gilliam was also part of the argueably the play of the night. The Rebels faced 3rd and 12 from their own 2 early in the 4th quarter. Gilliam took the snap, and luckily noticed Man Coverage on speedster Ken Williams. Williams caught the ball and one missed tackle later Williams was streaking into the endzone. Williams earned OFF MVP with his 2 catches for 135 yards and 2 TD's. Despite such a big game by Williams, The WSU offense led the game in all major offensive catagorys except Rushing.

Re: Offense just wasn't a factor!
you beat the worst team in D-1 by a touchdown with an absolutely stacked roster. more of an indictment than something to be proud of, if you ask me.
